Joseph Tulloch is a writer and journalist based in Rome.

He’s interested in religion, culture, and politics, and has reported from Palestine, from inside the Vatican, and from refugee rescue boats in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea.

His work has appeared in The Times, Al JazeeraThe Tablet, and elsewhere.

Currently, he works at Vatican News, covering Pope Francis and global religion, and as a freelancer for other outlets.

In a past life, he was a graduate student in philosophy at the University of Oxford. There, he wrote about the problems that animal suffering raises for belief in God.
